Parental care refers to the activities done by parents such s supplying physical sustenance, emotional support and instilling moral values in children. Parental care according to Gloria Shante (2005) can also referred to as the process of providing a nurturing and constructive environment that promotes growth and development in a child. Self esteem refers to how one feels about their concept. It is self worth ort it is how one values him!her self or counts themselves worthy to succeed in life (primary teachers’ guide 2009.
